South Beach Smoke E Cigarette Review
South Beach Smoke haven’t been around for that long, about a year and a half from what I can tell, but they have come a long way in that short time, right now they are one of the most popular brands of smokeless cigarettes on the market. As much as I love my V2 Cigs I thought I should give the South Beach a try, the starter kit is pretty cheap if you sign up to their Home Delivery Program, so that’s what I did, i’ll see how its goes.
Once their Deluxe Starter Kit arrived (the Deluxe is a 2 piece E cigarette, the Premium is a 3 piece) and I got it all opened up I was greeted with a really high quality product, both the device and the packing look great right away. Both the batteries in the kit come pre charged so I was ready to go right away.

When I attached the cartridge to the battery and took my first drag I was really impressed with the flavor right away, I opted for the 12mg (light) Tobacco refills. The tobacco flavor is really good, I’d go as far as saying that it was one of the best tobacco flavors I’ve used, its quite a mild flavor, but still very tasty. The only thing I didn’t think was up to much was the throat hit, it is pretty much non-existent in these 12mg cartridges. South Beach do offer a stronger refill (16mg) but I’m not sure if that is going to be much better, it would have to be a huge leap if it was.
Battery Duration
After I had got over the “excitement” of the new product I started to look into testing it and seeing how it performed. The most important thing to look at in a battery is how long it keeps its charge. I tried to keep note of how much I used my South Beach Smoke, and I found that I could get between 350 and 400 puffs from a full charge of their smaller 2.5inch battery, which is pretty much what South Beach claim on their website, this is actually very impressive, many of the other brands batteries are lucky to see 250 puffs..
Cartridge Duration
A single refill cartridge, I found, lasted about 175 to 200 puffs, which is equal to about 1.5 packs of traditional cigarettes. So if you are a 2 pack a day smoker you will need to carry a spare cartridge with you, but thankfully the smaller battery South Beach offer should see you through the day without a recharge.
If you smoke more than 2 packs a day you will probably need to use the longer battery that comes in the starter kit, this 3.5 inch battery should last almost twice as long as the shorter battery, about 700 puffs or there abouts. Almost enough for 4 packs of cigarettes worth of smoking before a recharge is needed.

Vapor
Vapor production is very impressive on the South Beach Smoke, from the first drag of a cartridge to the last there is nice, thick vapor. I wouldn’t go as far as saying that its as good as the V2, but it is certainly on par with the Green Smoke E cigarette, which up until the V2 came out was the best vapor producer on the market. So that is quite a feat. As with all automatic battery E cigarettes you need to take a primer puff to wake the atomizer up.
Cartridge Flavors
I decided to just go with the regular tobacco flavor of cartridge, but if you are into all the other fruity flavors then South Beach has a decent selection for you to choose from. They offer – Tobacco, Menthol, Cherry, Chocolate and Vanilla. Nothing ground breaking, but these are the most popular flavors with most people.
South Beach Home Delivery Program

The Home Delivery Program is something that more smokeless cigarette brands need to do. Basically what it is is you set a time period (in days or months) and you get refill cartridges delivered to your home automatically. All you need to do is work out roughly how much you smoke each week or month and how many cartridges that equates to. Enter that information into the website, along with the strength and flavor that you want and you are ready to go. So, for example, if you smoke a pack a day, one carton (15 refills) will last you about 3 weeks, so you could arrange to have 2 cartons delivered to your home every 6 weeks.
Not only does it save you time each month and stop you from forgetting to order more carts, but it also saves you money on your refills as well. You save 30% on your refills, bringing the price down to $52.44 per carton (15 refills), or $2.33 per pack of regular cigarettes. In addition to that you get a substantial discount off of your starter kit, reducing the price for the Deluxe Starter Kit that I have from $99.99 down to $49.99.
The best thing is is that there is no minimum term that you have keep ordering for, so if it doesn’t work out for you then you can cancel it at any time, without any penalty. I’ve signed up for this service, mainly for the cheaper kit, but I’m going to keep it going for the time being and see how it works out.
Conclusion

All in all this electronic cigarette is very good, the tobacco flavor tastes great, the kit doesn’t cost a lot and you get good duration from both the batteries and the refills. The only down sides that I can see is that the Deluxe Starter Kit doesn’t come with a USB charger, which should be in every basic starter kit in my opinion, and that there is no throat hit off of the 12mg cartridges. The biggest problem is the throat hit, if this was improved I would be highly recommending this cigarette to everyone, but as it stands the V2 Cig has got its nose in front.
