I finally got my hands on the V2 Cig a few weeks ago, if you have read my other post “Should I Just Buy A Cheap Electronic Cigarette?” you will know that I’ve been looking forward to this day for quite a while now. I had tried a friends V2 Cig briefly and was hugely impressed with it, so I had to get my own. Since I got my hands on the V2 I haven’t put it down, it really is a great piece of kit, I would say it was even better than my previous favorite the Safe Cig.

Using V2 Cigs

V2 Cigs use the favored 2 piece design for their cigarettes so getting started using yours is easy, just screw the cartridge into the battery and away you go. In my kit I asked for a manual battery, this is the key to getting a lot of vapor without needing to put a lot of effort into it. You push the button and drag away, there isn’t a lot of resistance when you drag from the V2, its really effortless and with a big puff you create huge amounts of vapor, more than any other smokeless cigarettes on the market, I would say.

The manual batteries power outlasted the refill cartridges, these cartridges gave me about 20 cigarettes worth of use, so if you are a 20 a day smoker you wont have to worry about running out of power when you are out and about. I also got a normal, automatic battery, though I’ve only used it briefly, but this should last even longer than the manual battery. The batteries also come in a few different finishes – white, black and stainless steel – I’ve got one white and one black, they are really nice to look at and to touch, the stainless finish is a little too much for me, I feel it would look out of place if I used it in public.

Flavors

I also ordered a variety pack of refills so that I could sample all the different flavors that they offer. The range goes as follows –

Red Tobacco, Congress Tobacco, Sahara Tobacco, Menthol, Coffee, Vanilla, Cherry, Peppermint, Chocolate, Cola.

Pretty much all of the flavors do exactly what their name would suggest, they taste how they should, they all create the same levels of vapor, but I do have a few favorites. So far I’m really enjoying the Red Tobacco the most, it tastes exactly how it should and makes me feel like I’m smoking a tobacco cigarette. This is followed pretty closely by vanilla and cola, both of the cartridges have got great flavor that I could sit and smoke all day long, they are nice if you feel like a change from straight forward tobacco.

Accessories

Portable Charging Case

V2 Cigs offer a portable recharging case for your E cigarette, like many other E cigarette companies do. But this case seems to be a little better made than many of the others. There is enough space inside it for 2 refill cartridges and your battery, there is also a little LCD screen that lets you know how much charge is left in the case, so you know when it needs charging again, and so that you wont get caught short. If you are buying any E cigarette then I recommend that you always get a recharging case, I cant live without mine now. Not only does it make carry your E cig around easier, but you don’t have to carry any other chargers with you either.

Power Cig/NoteBook Cig

The NoteBook and Power Cig are perhaps the best accessories you could buy for your electronic cigarette, especially if you spend a lot of time at a computer. Basically you plug the Power Cig in the USB port on your computer, attach a cartridge and smoke away. But, because it is connected to your computer it creates quite a bit more power, resulting in a much bigger hit and even thicker vapor, it really is quite an awesome piece of kit. Not only that but it means you don’t have to worry about running out of battery power, or you can conserve your batteries for when you are away from your computer. You really need to try one of these things out!

Prices

When people talk to me about electronic cigarettes, the one thing they always mention is how expensive starter kits cost. V2 Cigs pricing would suit these people I imagine, they are very affordable and to be honest they could actually charge a lot more for everything that they sell, the quality of product that you get its way above their price range.

I opted for the V2 Traveller Kit because it had the Portable Charging Case, the NoteBook Cig (Power Cig) as well as 2 batteries and all the other usual bits and pieces, cartridges, chargers and so on. At just under $110 this kit is perfect for what I would class as a “normal smoker” – someone who smokes 15 – 20 cigarettes a day normally. If you are a heavier smoker you may want to go for the Ultimate Kit, which gives you another battery and more cartridges.

When you need to buy more cartridges there are some good deals to take advantage of, buying in bulk would be a really good idea. You can buy 80 cartridges at a time for $135 (less than $1.70 each) and as mentioned above one of these will last about 20 cigarettes worth of use.

Should You Buy This Smokeless Cigarette?

The simple answer is YES! I don’t think there is another smokeless cigarette on the market that can compete with V2 Cigs on price, flavor, vapor and quality. It excels at everything. I don’t think there is a thing that I would change about it, the tobacco flavors are great for purists and the other flavors are great for people looking for something a little different.

2012 is fast approaching and it’s time when people start to think about what their new years resolution is going to be. One of the most popular things to promise to yourself, as I’m sure you know, is to give up smoking. The chances are that you will have made this promise a number of years in a row and while you may be able to keep it up for a while, or at least cut down quite dramatically, if you are like me, you will always end up smoking cigarettes just like you used to.

If you have been to Original Smokeless Cigarettes before you may know that I’ve manage to stop using tobacco altogether and now only use electronic cigarettes. And I feel many times better for it. I tried to stop using tobacco a number of times, using the usual products on the market, gum, patches, rubbish inhalers and no aid at all. Needless to say, I would last a few days, then have one cigarette, then a few more, then I was back to where I started. However this would start to change once I got my hands on smokeless cigarettes. The first few devices were pretty crude (or should I say, crud?) but they still caught my imagination and I started to hunt for a better device, it wasn’t long before I found Green Smoke and The Safe Cig, and then V2 Cigs.

After I found highly quality devices like these I wouldn’t touch tobacco cigarettes, and that is still the case today, close to 2 years down the line. So as you could guess, I would really recommend giving smokeless cigarettes a try if you want an alternative to tobacco cigarettes.

Not only did they help me stop smoking tobacco but they have have a number of other advantages too. The main thing is the cost. After you buy the initial starter kit your smoking costs will be greatly reduced, in some cases as much as 75-80%. In the case of V2 Cigs, the most you will pay for a refill is $2.59, but this can be reduced if you buy more cartridges at one time. Compare this to the price of tobacco, which is $8 per pack in some places and rising all the time.

The next advantage to using these electronic cigarettes is that you are able to use them pretty much anywhere you want, even in places where smoking tobacco has been banned. In the office, in a restaurant or bar and so on. This is a real bonus at this time of year when its freezing outside. I know that for me smoking outside in winter would make my cough even worse than normal, and I’d end up spending most of the season in my bed trying to recover from colds or a runny nose.

So, if you want to give up tobacco then I strongly suggest giving smokeless cigarettes a try. The run up to Christmas is a great time to buy as well, as many of the big brands have got special offers running. So it’s a great time to buy and prepare for the new year and you new, tobacco free life.

On the upside they are taking steps to combat minors buying electronic cigarettes. It has been made illegal to sell these devices to under 18s, as with tobacco products. Also, any stores who stock and sell smokeless cigarettes will have to keep them behind the counter, keeping them out of sight of minors, so that they are not enticed to buy them. Also retailers who want to sell E cigarettes in their store they will have to apply for a permit before they can do so.

It’s nice to see E cigarettes are getting attention, but sadly in this case they seem to be attracting the wrong type of attention. They have got the potential to help millions of people stop using tobacco products. This ban on smoking in the work place really is a kick in the teeth for people trying to get away from tobacco. Making them go back outside might just be the nudge that they need to start using tobacco again. I hope that the massive savings that they can make using E cigarettes is a big enough incentive to stop former tobacco users turning back to tobacco.

The ban on minors buying E cigarette is of course a great thing. Minors using E cigarettes really does give the device a bad name. Most respectable brands will not sell to under 18s, so for brands like V2 Cigs or Safe Cigs this won’t make much difference, but for the less respectable retailers this is enforcement that is needed.
