E-Lites – E200 E Cigarette Starter Kit Review
If you have been on Original Smokeless Cigarettes before and have had a look through my “E Cigarettes UK” post you will know that I’ve used E-Lites smokeless cigarettes for a while now. This E cigarette review applies to both the UK and USA E-Lites cigarettes. They are both exactly the same.
E-Lites have went for a really classic take on their branding, mimicking that very famous brand smoked mainly by cowboys (?), if cowboys want to use E-Lites they better get themselves a computer with a USB port! Haha. Anyway, their products look really good and wont look out of place in any smokers pocket.
There are a few starter kits for you to choose from in their store, I opted for the E200 E cigarette starter kit, E200 telling us how many cigarettes worth of smoking we get from their cartridges in the kit, you also get a hard carry case with this starter kit too, this also charges your battery when plugged into a computer via USB.
The Cartridges
I’ll start off by talking about the cartridges. The cartridges are E-Lites strong point. From a single refill you can get a claimed 400 puffs, which equates to about 40 regular tobacco cigarettes. I found that I got a little less than this, but it could be down to the way I “smoked” the device, or some bad counting on my part. Anyway, there isn’t a lot in it, and almost 400 puffs from one cartridge is more than pretty much any other brand on the market.
That isn’t all though, the flavors are very good as well. I tried both their regular tobacco and menthol refills, and I was really impressed with what I experienced. The tobacco flavor is very, very good, one of the best I’ve used, certainly up there with my current favorite from V2 Cigs. You get a nice tobacco flavor and a nice after taste as well, that sticks around for a while after exhaling. With many tobacco cartridges you can get a strange after taste, not with E-Lites though. The menthol is very good too, nice and fresh. The only real downside to the E-Lites cartridges is the throat hit, there is a definite hit, but it could be a little stronger for me.
Vapor
The vapor production of the E-Lite is another of its strong suits. It’s not quite the best on the market but it’s certainly better than the average. I would say it was on par with Safe Cigs vapor, it still has a bit to go to catch up with V2 Cigs or Green Smoke. But if you give it a primer puff followed by a full drag then you can get a really good hit and good vapor from it.
Costs
The price of refills is pretty much on par with most of the other brands, they come in at around $2.50 per 20 cigarettes worth of smoking. A single refill costs $5, but that does give you 40 cigarettes of smoking, so don’t be put off by the apparent higher price.
The Battery
With the E200 starter kit you only get a single battery, don’t let that put you off though, the battery does last a good length of time. You should be able to smoke 3/4 of the way through one of their cartridges, on a single charge, so about 300 puffs. If you smoke around about 20 cigarettes a day then you are going to be fine. If you are going to need the full 300 puffs from the battery, or more, then you can use the hard case that comes with the E200 kit to recharge the battery, if you have a USB port close to hand to charge it through that is. Sadly there isn’t a portable charging case available right now, but hopefully they will include such a thing in future. So, if you smoke more than 30 cigarettes through the day and can’t access power to charge the battery then you are going to need to buy a second battery, or perhaps look at another E cigarette that comes with a portable charging case, or a regular case that carries 2 or more batteries. The V2 Cig for example.
Overall the E-Lites cigarette is a really good product, and for $65 there is not much that I can fault with it other than the slightly mellow throat hit. If they improve that and offer a portable charging case this is going to be a serious contender to the title of best electronic cigarette that V2 Cigs holds right now.

I’m under the impression that E-Lites are based in the UK, so if you live in the UK or Europe and are looking for a smokeless cigarette, I strongly recommend giving this a try, from what I’ve heard this is the best of the UK brands.

I live in the UK and they are easily the best brand out there, they lead the market hands down. They have some great new products here which common sense would say they will bring to the US too.. worlds first ever charging dock, a case that charges cigarettes as you walk around, LCD screen, and the ability to engrave your name on the box. But the E200 kit and E80 kits provide great vapour, and I think everyone should switch to these..!
I was a bit wary of the reviews on their website, as they were all positive and raving.
But I decided to give it a go with a groupon voucher. In the end, because of a first delivery lost in transit by royal mail and then the normal strength package being out of stock, it took a while to receive my order. Customer service was top notch though, and they compensated me for the wait with additional charges.
I have been smoking one pack per day for 20 years and I was pleasantly surprised that it is reasonably similar to smoking. Smoke is pretty much odourless even with regular strenght, accordingly to my non smoking wife (the final test will be my visiting landlady tonight).
I never tried other brands, and honestly I was fed up with smoking but unable to cut on nicotine, but for me is a valid replacement, better than expected. Charger takes a bit long (3hours) so for me having bought two was definitely a good idea. The other thing is, like with any ecigarette, there is a risk of overvaping, it requires a bit of attention to time yourself so you don’t use it much longer than a cigarette. On the plus side, you are not forced to finish a whole cigarette if you just want a few puffs.
